What is Land Conversion?
Land conversion, often called DC Conversion in Karnataka and some other Indian states, is the legal process of converting agricultural land into non-agricultural land, such as for residential, commercial, or industrial purposes.
Applying for Land Conversion on Bhoomi Portal
Steps to apply for land conversion:
- Visit the Bhoomi portal.
- Under ‘Services,’ select ‘Apply for Conversion.’
- The ‘Citizen Login for Revenue Services’ page will open.
- Log in with your user ID and password. If you don’t have an account, click ‘Create Account,’ fill in the details, and submit to register.
- Choose the appropriate conversion type from these options:
- Affidavit Based Conversion’ for land outside the master plan area.
- ‘Master Plan-Based Deemed Land Conversion’ for land included in a master plan.
- ‘Section 109 Permission’ for purchasing agricultural land under Section 109 of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act.
- Submit the conversion application and pay the required fee online.
To check the application status, select ‘Conversion Request Status’ under ‘Services’ and enter the Affidavit Number or User ID.
To download the conversion order, click on ‘Download Final Conversion Order’ under ‘Services’ and enter the Request ID or Survey Number.

Viewing Land Dispute Case Details on Bhoomi Portal
To check for land dispute cases, follow these steps:
- Open the Bhoomi portal.
- Under ‘Services,’ click on ‘Dispute Case.’
- Select the district and taluk, then click ‘Get Report.’
- A list of land dispute cases for the taluk will be displayed, including details such as mutation type, MR number, document number, transaction year, objector’s name, objection date, and survey number.
