PM Kisan’s Next Payment: What Farmers Should Do Now

If you’re a farmer waiting on your next ₹2,000 from PM Kisan, the calendar is on your side. Payments come roughly every four months, and the most recent one, the 23rd, reached over 9.4 crore farmers on 20 June 2026. Going by that rhythm, the 24th should land around October. The government hasn’t confirmed a date, so treat October as an estimate.

The scheme itself is simple. Eligible landholding families receive ₹6,000 a year in three equal parts, sent straight to a bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer. There’s no land-size limit, so large and small holders both qualify. Income tax payers, professionals such as doctors and lawyers, higher-pension retirees, and current or former constitutional office-holders are left out.

The real risk isn’t the date but a missed requirement. Many payments stall for the same few reasons:

  • e-KYC isn’t done. It’s mandatory, and without it the money is held back. You can finish it with an OTP on the portal, face authentication in the PMKISAN app, or biometrics at a Common Service Centre.
  • The bank account isn’t NPCI-seeded. Payment goes to the account linked in the NPCI mapper, so a quick visit to your bank can fix this.
  • Details don’t match. A name that differs between Aadhaar and your PM Kisan record, or a wrong account number, can make a transfer fail.
  • Land records have errors. These need to be corrected through your state agriculture department.

Checking is easy. Go to pmkisan.gov.in, open Beneficiary Status, and enter your registration or Aadhaar number to see your payment history. An SMS and a “PM-KISAN-BNFT” entry in your bank statement confirm each credit. The helpline is 155261.

The article also flags the new Farmer ID under AgriStack, which is already mandatory for new registrations in 14 states and may expand. It’s worth enrolling early.

Bottom line: Don’t wait for the announcement. Complete e-KYC, confirm your bank seeding, and check your status now.
